Computer-Evolved Digital Compositions

STATEMENT
Digital art has faced resistance from the broader art world. Misconceptions and the market's saturation with look-alike AI-generated art are just the beginning of the challenges.
My Computer-Evolved Digital Compositions—figurative and abstract—seek to bridge the tactile and the digital. The origins of my work are diverse, incorporating my own photography, paintings, assemblage, and digitally created art. I use the above mediums to produce what can be considered digitally primitive to technologically sleek compositions..
As a self-taught artist, I purchased my first computer in the late 1980s and became a digital artist featured in the Schomburg Center’s Black Artists of the 21st Century collection.
My current themes, a mixture of which can be considered, at times, seamless collages, include abstract compositions, political and social commentary, and explorations of African American life in present and imagined futuristic settings.
